FIFA Quality Programme
Design football fields that perform, last and meet FIFA standards from day one.
The FIFA Quality Programme is the global benchmark for assessing the performance of football surfaces. At Act Sports, we don’t just design systems — we help you define, specify and deliver solutions that meet certification requirements with confidence, reducing uncertainty across tendering, execution and longterm performance. This approach provides a strong technical foundation for club projects and public facilities, where risk reduction, comparability and consistent playing experience are critical to project success.
What is the FIFA Quality Programme?
The FIFA Quality Programme is a performance based evaluation framework designed to ensure that football surfaces meet clearly defined standards for the proper development of the game.
For installers and project stake holders, it provides a shared technical language that simplifies decision making and reduces uncertainty. For players, it ensures a safe, consistent and reliable playing experience — match after match.
What does the FIFA recommended standard deliver?
For buyers / project owners | For users / facility installers |
|---|---|
· Reduced project risk: rely on proven, measurable standards from the outset · Simplified tendering process: clearer and comparable technical specifications · More confident decisions: objective criteria for evaluating proposals · Traceability and control: structured documentation for approvals and audits | · Consistent playing experience: reliable ball behaviour across the field · Improved safety and comfort: optimised player-surface interaction · Reliable longterm performance: systems designed for durability · Predictable maintenance outcomes: solutions aligned with real usage conditions |
In practice, eligibility depends on the complete system (turf + layers + base + installation) and on the project being executed according to specification. For this reason, at Act Sports we treat the FIFA Quality Programme as a system level objective, ensuring alignment between design, specification and onsite delivery from the very beginning.
Programme levels: FIFA Quality vs. FIFA Quality Pro
The FIFA Quality Programme includes two certification levels:
- FIFA Quality: The reference level for projects seeking proven performance, safety and compliance, with a balanced approach between durability and cost.
- FIFA Quality Pro: A higherdemand level intended for projects where maximum performance, consistency and reliability are nonnegotiable, such as highintensity use or elite competition environments.
How is compliance verified?
Compliance is assessed through onsite testing and verification in accordance with the applicable FIFA Quality Programme protocols.

What is certified: the product or the installed system?
It is essential to distinguish between product certification and certification of the fully installed field, as both impact the final outcome.
Product certification (materials)
Evaluates individual components (e.g. turf) to ensure they meet technical requirements and provide a reliable foundation for system design.
Full system certification (installed field)
In real projects, certification depends on the complete system configuration and its execution on site. This is why, at Act Sports, we focus on ensuring that what is specified is actually delivered, minimising gaps between design intent and real performance
Our approach at Act Sports
As manufacturers, we continuously innovate in yarns, structures and system configurations to meet the performance expectations of modern football. Our approach ensures that projects are not only technically compliant, but also deliver consistent results in real conditions. | We support technical teams, installers and project managers with practical, decision-oriented documentation, including configuration criteria, installation guidelines and maintenance strategies designed to protect performance over time and reduce operational risk. |
FIFA Quality Programme validation and multisport standards
For football, we develop configurations specifically aligned with the FIFA Quality Programme, using a complete system approach (materials, layers, base and execution) to maximise the likelihood of successful certification.
If your project includes additional sports or specific technical requirements, we also provide guidance on complementary certifications and multisport solutions, ensuring consistency across all use cases.

Your questions about the FIFA Quality Programme
What is considered when certifying a field?
Certification depends on the complete system, its configuration and onsite execution. It is not only about the turf — the base, layers and installation quality are equally critical to achieving the desired result.
What information do you need to assess whether my project can align with FIFA Quality?
Sport (football), usage intensity, location and climate, field dimensions, base type, project timeline, and existing tender specifications — all of which influence the optimal solution.
Does certification depend on the product or the installation?
On both. Certification is defined by the system configuration and the accuracy of its execution on site.
Can you help with drafting or validating technical specifications?
Yes. We help define clear, comparable and decisionready specifications, reducing ambiguity and improving tender outcomes.
What is the difference between “standard” and “highperformance” systems?
It depends on project objectives. We help you balance performance, durability and cost, ensuring the system matches your real needs.
How does certification affect maintenance?
A properly designed and maintained system retains performance longer. We provide practical maintenance guidelines aligned with real usage conditions, reducing longterm uncertainty.
Can I request alternative solutions with different cost/performance ratios?
Yes. We offer multiple configurations to optimise performance, durability and total cost of ownership (TCO).
What do I need to send for a quick recommendation?
Location + usage level + base type (if known) + field objective + technical specification (if available).
