Upcoming star

Clément Geens was raised in a family that was all about hockey. His mum played for the national team, his father and cousin were star players, his uncle coached the national women’s and men’s team … Yet, the young Clément was more into racquet sports. As a junior, he participated in all tennis grand slams. And in 2016, at the age of 20, he ranked 245th in the ATP ranking. However, a series of injuries forced Clément Geens to retire from pro tennis. He switched to padel and quickly got the hang of it. He joined the national team and also started playing tournaments abroad. In 2024, Clément and his French partner Dylan Guichard qualified for one of the world’s 4 Major Premier Padel tournaments for the first time. The future looks bright for the duo.

Player comfort and gameplay as gamechangers

As a player who had his share of injuries, Clément Geens highly values equipment and infrastructure that prioritize player comfort. “So, when Act Sports asked me to become an ambassador, my decision was quickly made,” Clément claims. “Playing at the Brussels Premier Padel, I was struck by the combination of consistent, high-quality gameplay with great player experience the sports turf offers. For example, the cushioning is much easier on the joints, leading to fewer injuries and more comfortable play. By spreading the word and wearing the Act Sports logo on my shirt, I’ll be a proud ambassador. Extra benefit: I get to test innovative sports turf systems by Act Sports.”

After Portuguese player João Moura , he is now the second professional player to officially tie the knot with Act Sports. “As a global leader in top-tier sports turf systems, we make it our mission to help young talents become the best versions of themselves,” says Lieven Bertier. “We look forward to working together with Clément and are very proud to have him on board.” This is another milestone in 2024, a year that already saw partnerships with the Premier Padel tournaments in Brussels and Valladolid, as well as a continued collaboration with player João Moura.”

Together for top 100 position

Clément Geens is ready for the next step in his career: “We’ll play all P1, P2, and major tournaments we can qualify for. At the same time, I plan to participate in the national championships and the Belgium padel tour, the national circuit consisting of 4 tournaments with the country’s best players. The ultimate goal: a top 100 position in the global ranking.”

Act Sports looks forward to assisting Clément in making the final jump on the ranking – he is number 107 at the time of writing. Let’s go!
