One of the founding partners of Samen Circulair is Act Sports, the sports brand of Beaulieu International Group. “As an industrial group, we want to maximally reduce our environmental footprint by 2030”, clarifies Friso van den Berg, Commercial Director at Act Sports. “That includes reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 42% compared to 2021, and aiming for at least 50% of recycled or renewable materials in our product solutions. No wonder we fully endorse the ambitious objectives defined by Samen Circulair.”

Besides being an ambassador of circular solutions, Act Sports is mainly known for its innovative sports turf systems for sports like hockey, rugby, padel and … football. Friso van den Berg: “We commercialize over 60 different sports turf systems for football, many of which have been certified by FIFA. In other words, we set the bar high for ourselves, and we can already look back on over 250 FIFA-certified projects worldwide. In the long run, however, we’d love to add a missing piece to the puzzle: a system that’s entirely made from recycled football pitches. It would be a great success if one day we could let Dutch top league club sc Heerenveen play on such a pitch within Samen Circulair.”

The largest global professional padel tour

Introducing the world's new leading pro padel tour: Premier Padel. The successor of the World Padel Tour is governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and supported by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI). Premier Padel boasts 25 tournaments across 5 continents – making it the first truly global professional padel circuit. The organizers of Lotto Brussels Premier Padel have selected Act Sports, Beaulieu International Group's sports brand, as the official turf provider for their prestigious tournament. In addition to installing two new padel courts at Gare Maritime, the venue will also be equipped with Rewind – B.I.G.'s circular event carpet. After the event, this carpet will be recycled into high-quality polypropylene (PP) pellets to create new products, and also the padel turf will be collected for mechanical recycling. "With this initiative, we aim to set an example and inspire our colleagues worldwide to strive for a more sustainable tour," Nicolas Lhoist, CEO adds.

Pioneering in padel

The new courts for Lotto Brussels Premier Padel will feature Act Sports' #Score – a texturized padel turf with an in-house extruded polyethylene yarn. #Score is designed for intense use and long life with minimal maintenance. Thanks to the low amount of silica required, it provides excellent grip for players without affecting game speed.
